About the style 3 BIG Ben

The style 3 was the first of the Big and Baby Bens

designed by Henry Dreyfuss.

It was manufactured from 1931 until 1934,

making it the shortest run of a Big Ben style.

It was the first to use the Chime Alarm movement,

although it did not say Chime Alarm on the dial.

Considered by many collectors to be the most desirable.

Model:  1933 Big Ben, Style 3

Made by:   Westclox

Stock No: VINT1537

Features:  The style three was the first model designed for Westclox by Henry Dreyfuss.  Considered by many to be the classic Big Ben style, although it had the shortest run.  If not for it's run during the depression and that the peg leg style was still being made, this clock may have been manufactured for many many more years.  It utilized the first Chime Alarm movement, which became a standard design for Westclox until 1956.  The alarm starts off slowly and then speeds up.  The movement has a soft ticking sound.

Dimensions:  5 1/4" tall, 5" wide at the base

Condition:  This is an excellent example of the style 3.  The clock is 100% original.  The movement has been serviced and it runs and alarms as it should. This clock is VERY GOOD throughout, showing only minor indications of use.    This is one of the more rare models with the "Butler" (brushed nickel) finish.  The original dial is EXCELLENT.
