About the style 2 Big Ben

The style 2 uses the same movement as the style 1a Big Ben.

It was manufactured from 1927 until 1932.

Starting in 1928, Westclox offered the style 2 in painted "crackle" finishes of Rose, Green and Blue.  The crackle finish was discontinued in 1930.

Model:  1928 Big Ben, Style 2

Made by:   Westclox

Stock No:  VINT1449

Features:  The style 2 has a loud ticking sound and loud alarm.  The alarm has a setting for "Steady" ringing or "Repeat".  The "Repeat" function stops and starts again and again until you shut it off.

Dimensions:  7" tall, 5 1/4" wide

Condition:  The movement has been serviced and it runs and alarms as it should.  The original dial is VERY GOOD.  Please take note of the following:  The paint is NEW.  This is close to the original color Westclox provided, called "Crackle Rose," but this is darker and more red.  One of the results of this new paint is that little of the etching on the rear bell is still visible.  Another point is that the base is an exact replica of the original, except it is made of brass instead of pot metal.  The result will be the that it will not split, crack and break like the originals did.
